The United States Golf Association (USGA) today opened volunteer registration for the 75th U.S. Women’s Open Championship at Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas on June 4-7, 2020.

The USGA is seeking to fill positions on 17 committees, including marshals, players services, leaderboards and merchandise. Volunteer assignments for these committees occur on a first-come, first-served basis. Spots are expected to fill up quickly and interested volunteers should visit uswomensopen.com/2020 and click on the “Volunteers” tab, which also provides comprehensive committee descriptions. Early-bird volunteer opportunities have already filled more than 40 percent of available positions. 

“We are excited to return to Texas for the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open,” says Matt Sawicki, championship director. “The USGA has seen great success in the Lone Star State, and we know the local community will help make this another memorable Championship for volunteers, spectators, and the best players in the world.”

Each volunteer will receive a credential valid for all seven days of the championship, as well as access to volunteer hospitality with complimentary food, snacks and beverages on the days they volunteer. Volunteers will be asked to complete four (4) five-to-six hour shifts throughout the duration of the championship. 

The return to Champions Golf Club marks the fourth USGA Championship held on the club’s Cypress Creek Course, with past events including the 1969 U.S. Open, the 1993 U.S. Amateur and the 1998 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur. The state of Texas will add the 75th U.S. Women’s Open to its USGA Championships as number 30, including the second time that the Lone Star State has hosted the U.S. Women’s Open.

The 74^th U.S. Women’s Open will take place at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. later this month and can be seen on Fox Sports May 30-June 2.
