LIBERTY CORNER, N.J. (May 8, 2018) – The USGA today announced a day of family-friendly activities to introduce youths 18 and under to the game of golf at the 118th U.S. Open Championship. Junior Day will be held on Wednesday, June 13 at iconic Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y.

The free day of events includes interactive stations to spark interest in various aspects of the game. All juniors will be able to track each activity on a complimentary “scorecard,” which can be redeemed for a prize at the Merchandise Pavilion throughout the day. Starting at 8 a.m., young fans will also be treated to several unique fan experiences, including:

• LPGA-USGA Girls Golf “Play Station” – Kids will have the opportunity to learn or sharpen their golf swing with fun games, including hitting a golf ball into the mouth of a giant shark;

• Learning Science Through Golf Educational Station – This interactive course will teach youngsters the scientific principles that influence the game;

• Green screen photo in the USGA Fan Clubhouse;

• 180-degree video experience presented by Deloitte located at Fan Central;

• Visit to the U.S. Open Live set;

• Various opportunities for Instagram-worthy photos.

Tickets to the 2018 U.S. Open Championship start at $75 per adult for Wednesday’s practice round and can be purchased online at www.usopen.com. Juniors 18 and under receive complimentary admission with a ticketed adult throughout the championship. There is a limit of two junior tickets per adult ticket holder.

The 118th U.S. Open Championship, scheduled for June 11-17, will be the fifth U.S. Open hosted by the storied club. Shinnecock Hills is the only venue to welcome the world’s greatest players in three different centuries to what is widely regarded as the ultimate test in golf. It will be the 10th U.S. Open conducted on Long Island and the 19th in the state of New York.
