MONDAY, MAY 28: Practice Round 1

SHOAL CREEK, ALA. (May 28, 2018) - Due to heavy rainfall over the last week and more expected through mid-day Tuesday due to subtropical storm Alberto, championship admission gates for the U.S. Women’s Open at Shoal Creek will not open to fans until at least noon CT on Tuesday. Golf course conditions will be reassessed first thing in the morning and opening times may be adjusted accordingly.  All volunteer shifts prior to 10 a.m. are canceled.

Fan experience and safety is the USGA’s top priority, and all decisions are being made with this in mind. Players’ Tuesday practice round tee times will be pushed back until 12:20 p.m. until further notice.

The golf course superintendent’s staff, in collaboration with the USGA’s agronomy team, will continue to work diligently to ensure the venue is ready for championship play to begin Thursday. We are confident our team is doing everything possible to showcase the course to its fullest competitive potential.

While the admission gates will open to fans at noon, the Media Center will be open and operational at 8 a.m. We will continue to provide timely updates should anything change.

*** Media Alert *** 73rd U.S. Women's Open to Welcome Fans for Wednesday Practice Rounds

SHOAL CREEK, Ala. (May 29, 2018) -  Practice round tee times will begin at 6:40 a.m. and admission gates will be open to the public beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday at Shoal Creek for the 73rd U.S. Women's Open Championship. 

Due to heavy rains from Subtropical Storm Alberto, several modifications have been made to the championship permit parking areas that will be in effect to ensure safety for all players, volunteers, spectators and media.

General Parking for all fans will be located at The Church at Brook Hills located off Hwy 119 on Thursday and Friday. General Parking will move to Meadow Brook Corporate Park located at 300 Corporate Parkway for Saturday and Sunday.

Permit parking area changes are as follows:

  • Lot C will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Permit holders will be directed to park in Lot K.
     
  • Lot D will be closed for the rest of the week. Permit holders will be directed to park in Lot L.   
     
  • Lot F (Volunteer Parking) will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday. All volunteers should follow signs and park in General Parking.

In addition, all Junior Day activities have been rescheduled for Saturday, June 2.  Up-to-date parking information and schedule of play will continue to be posted at uswomensopen.com.

Wednesday Schedule Update

SHOAL CREEK, Ala. (May 30, 2018)  -  The U.S. Women's Open Media Center is open with the all-clear released throughout the Shoal Creek campus.  Media shuttles are now running to and from the golf course from Lot K.  We'll have a hot lunch waiting for you.

The practice facility will open at 12:15 p.m. and the first adjusted starting time for practice rounds will be 1 p.m. today.

FRIDAY, JUNE 1: Round 2

Round 2 was suspended due to a dangerous weather situation at 2:27 p.m. Play resumed at 6:15 p.m.

 

Round 2 was suspended again due to a dangerous weather situation at 7:20 p.m. Round 2 will resume at 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 2. 

 

BROOKE HENDERSON has withdrawn from the 2018 U.S. Women’s Open Championship on Friday, June 1, due to personal reasons and is headed home to be with her family in Ottawa. She withdrew prior to her second round of play.

SATURDAY, JUNE 2: Round 3

Round 2 of the U.S. Women's Open Championship resumed this morning at 7:45 a.m. CDT. Round 3 will be played in groups of three off of Nos. 1 and 10 tees. Starting times will begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of Round 2.
