MAMARONECK, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2020) – The United States Golf Association (USGA) today announced the opening of ticket sales for the 121st U.S. Open Championship, scheduled for June 14-20, 2021, on the South Course at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, Calif. Popular gallery tickets and premium packages are now available at usopen.com/tickets.
The 2021 U.S. Open marks the third USGA championship for the South Course and the second time it will play host to the national championship. Torrey Pines boasts a long pedigree of hosting professional golf, including the dramatic 2008 U.S. Open. Playing with a leg injury, Tiger Woods holed a 12-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to force an 18-hole playoff with Rocco Mediate. Woods again birdied the 18th hole the following day to tie Mediate, and he won in 19 holes for his third U.S. Open title and 14th major championship.
“We are excited to be returning to Torrey Pines and the state of California for another U.S. Open,” said John Bodenhamer, USGA senior managing director, Championships. “In 2008, the South Course served as the backdrop for one of the most memorable finishes in the championship’s history. We look forward to making more history in 2021 as the world’s best take on this iconic course.”
