Play was suspended at 4:29 p.m. due to dangerous weather conditions. After a 2 hour and 5 minute weather delay, play resumed at 6:34 p.m. Play was suspended for the day at 8:33 p.m. due to darkness. Round 1 will resume July 14 at 6:45 a.m., with 39 players left to finish. Round 2 will begin at 7 a.m. on July 14, with all starting times delayed 15 minutes from the original posted time.

MICHELLE WIE has withdrawn from the 2017 U.S. Women's Open Championship on Friday, July 14, due to a neck injury. The 2014 U.S. Women's Open champion, who was fully exempt, withdrew on the 11th hole (her second hole of the day) during the second round.

BEATRIZ RECARI, of Spain, has withdrawn from the 2017 U.S. Women's Open Championship on Friday, July 14, due to illness. Recari, who was fully exempt and playing in her seventh consecutive U.S. Women's Open, withdrew on the 15th hole (her sixth hole of the day) during the second round.
